The Steppingstone Foundation is committed to transparency, ethical governance, and responsible stewardship of resources. The documents below are provided to ensure accountability to the community, partners, and supporters we serve.
IRS Status
The Steppingstone Foundation has submitted its application for recognition as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service is currently pending.
As a newly formed organization, the Foundation has not yet filed a Form 990. Once required filings become available, they will be made publicly accessible on this page.
Financial Oversight & Controls
A dedicated nonprofit bank account used exclusively for Foundation activities
Board of Directors oversight of financial activity
Board review and approval of budgets and material expenditures
Internal controls governing the authorization and use of funds
Maintenance of accurate financial records using appropriate accounting systems
Conflict of Interest & Related-Party Transactions
The Board of Directors has adopted a Conflict of Interest Policy requiring annual disclosure by directors and officers. Any actual or potential conflicts, including related-party transactions, are reviewed and approved by disinterested members of the Board to ensure decisions are made in the best interest of the Foundation.
